Abubakar Dan-Buduma, a top Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) commander is dead.
Dan-Buduma was eliminated in airstrikes conducted by the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF).
About twenty other ISWAP fighters were killed in the bombardment that targeted areas near Lake Chad.
The terrorists were in Kwalaram village in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State when the military struck.
The air and ground operation involved the Nigeriene Air Task Force, Nigeria’s Operation Hadin Kai and the MNJTF.
Dan-Buduma and others were appointed in January by Sani Shuwaram, the ISWAP leader killed some weeks ago.
Dan-Buduma was deployed to oversee Bakassi Buningil and Doron Buhari areas, replacing Muhammed Ba’ana.
Muhammed Ba’ana was appointed to head the Kirta unit, while Mohamet Aliamir took charge of operations at Kwalaram.
Bakura Gana was assigned to supervise Jubularam, Malam Musa sent to Jubularam, and Mohamadu Mustapha named the head of Marte unit.
