Nigeria Police Machine Team Win IGP Kickboxing Championship

Nigeria Police machine team at the weekend surpassed all opposition’s to emerge champions at the Ist Inspector General of Police National Open Kickboxing Championship held at the police college ground Ikeja, Lagos.

 

The team captured 7 gold, 7 silver, and 1 bronze medal while Delta State came second with 6 gold, and 3 silver. The third position went to Edo Black Scorpions club which picked 5 gold, 7 silver and 5. bronze medals.

 

The Minister of Sports, Chief Sunday Dare, commended the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman for sponsoring the championship.

 

Represented by Mrs Nkana Mbora, the Lagos Liason officer of the Sports Ministry at the final, the minister thanked the IGP for collaborating with the Kickboxing Federation of Nigeria in putting up the championship.

 

 

Adding that by the act, Alkali Baba Usman has really proven himself as a true lover of Sports hence, he should keep it up.

 

Encouraged by the large turnout of participants, the chairman of the Nigeria Police Kickboxing Association, ACP Abubakar Yakubu, thanked the IGP for giving members of the Nigerian Police force the platform to exhibit their God given talents by repositioning of sports within the Force.

 

Over 150 Kickboxers drawn from across 18 states and 12 clubsides across the country, took part in the weeklong exercise held from May 23-28, 2022 according to Mr. Segun Fasesin, the KBFN secretary while the president of KBFN Mr Wilson Okon, also commended the IGP for the spornsorship.
