Fake CAC Registration Centre Unraveled By RRS In Lagos, Arrest 5

Detectives attached to the Lagos State Anti-Crime outfit, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested five members of a syndicate for allegedly operating a fake Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) centre in Lagos.

 

It was learnt that the gang use the centre to produce different companies’ seals, CAC certificates, among others.

 

The suspects were alleged to have used the illegal outfit to swindle many victims of billions of naira were arrested following a tip-off and painstaking background checks.

 

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the development, said the syndicate’s illegal operation centre is located along Jobi Fele Way, Alausa Business District, Alausa, Ikeja.

 

“Five suspects manning the center were equally arrested for forgery and impersonating CAC officials. Those arrested include Gloria Ukaegbu aged 28, Omolere Kayode aged 30, Taiwo Ajayii aged 34, Nwachukwu Brenda aged 27 and Oluwatomisin Adebisi aged 25.

 

 “Led by the Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, the operatives recovered several forged CAC documents, a Toyota Sienna and a Toyota Matrix car used as makeshift offices for their nefarious transactions,” he added.

Benjamin further said preliminary investigation reveals that the syndicate has swindled over hundreds of people through fake CAC registrations.

 

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti for further investigations and prosecution.
