Disu Clinches Silver Medal In 33rd US Open Judo Championship

Tunji Disu, a deputy commissioner of police and head of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), participated in the ongoing judo championship which commences in the United States on July 28.

The 2022 US Open Judo competition, which is the 33rd edition, had over five hundred veteran champions from all over the world. 

It was indeed a congregation of veteran judokas including those who have participated in global championships like the Olympics.  

On Sunday, July 31, DCP Tunji Disu claims a silver medal in the competition.

He contested in the minus 100kg category, where he defeated Woods Glen, the number one veteran judoka in the United States. 

According to Disu, this feat was achieved after a thorough preparation ahead of the competition. 

He encouraged the youths to engage in sporting activities like judo which helps to increase mental and physical alertness.
