Ignore Viral Video Of Attack On Yola Customs Complex, Says Police

The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a viral video about the Customs office complex in the state capital, Yola, being attacked.

The police stated Friday that the Adamawa/Taraba Area Command headquarters of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), located in the Jimeta area of Yola, is intact.

It explained that the video in question captures the attack on the office complex in 2020 in the heat of the EndSARS protests that hit many parts of the country.

“This trending video going round social media about an attack on Customs House in Yola is an incident that occurred during End-SARS saga sometime in October 2020,” the police said in a statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Nguroje.

The police added, “It is important to note that since October 2020, Adamawa State has never experienced any protest. The people of Adamawa are peace-loving and law-abiding. The command wishes to advise members of the public to disregard the trending video.”
