Barely three months after the first incident in the area, dare devil armed bandits have again on Saturday night unleashed attack on the residents of Shola quarters in the Katsina state capital.
A source told our reporter that, the miscreants arrived the area at about 1:30 am.
The source added that, during their nefarious activities, two vigilante men were killed, while one other person was abducted.
It would be recalled that, the bandits had previously attacked Shola quarters in state capital and Filin polo area, behind the Federal Medical Centre during which it abducted a business man, his wife and daughter and ransom paid for their release.
The source also recalled that, after a day later, the bandits attacked a village behind the 35 Battalion barracks, Katsina during which many people were abducted.
The bandits, similarly stormed another village known as Dan Tsauni on the way to Babbar Ruga along Batsari road killing some people and rustling their animals, as well as kidnapping others.
According to a source, while the activities of the miscreants were ongoing in this nearby communities unabated, the residents of the metropolis should be security cautious, as they could be the next target.
With the present scenario, some concerned çitizens said, “from the look of things, their is no light at the end of the tunnel, the bandits are moving towards the centre of the city”, adding that, “only God knows where next”.
When contacted, SP Gambo Isah, the state Police command image maker confirmed the incident, saying it is too early to make any statement, however operations are ongoing to rescue victims of the attack by officers and men of the command.
