Gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, have killed an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), along the Oke Ako–Ajowa Road in the Ajoni Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State.
The victim, who was said to be travelling from Ado-Ekiti to his hometown, was attacked in his vehicle and shot dead on Saturday evening.
The armed hoodlums were said to have abducted his brothers, who were in the car with him, as well as two children travelling in the car with them.
Sources said the gunmen whisked away two persons whose identities they could not ascertain, while another occupant of the vehicle escaped from being kidnapped.
However, gathered that hunters in the community and neighbouring villages had started combing the bush to free the captives and possibly arrest the gunmen.
