Police Defeat Two Notorious Bandits, Recover Weapons In Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has gunned down two notorious bandits terrorising the state. The state police Command also recovered a rifle and ammunition from the bandits. DSP Mohammed Jalige, the state Command spokesman, in a statement explained, “The Command had at about 0800hours of 12th October, 2022 received an information that some heavily armed bandits in large numbers were sighted around Idasso area of Kidandan in Galadimawa District of Giwa LGA on a mission to commit atrocity against law abiding citizens.” He further explained that upon receipt of the information, the Command immediately mobilized a nearby crack squad to advance to the location to thwart their nefarious mission. The PPRO said that the resilient officers, on getting to the area, engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle and successfully neutralized two bandits while others escaped with varying degrees of bullet wounds. The statement stated that an immediate search of the vicinity led to the recovery of an AK49 rifle loaded with 24 rounds of live ammunition and one bandit’s operational motorcycle. According to the statement, a kidnapped victim, one Yusuf Dahiru, male, 65yrs, was equally rescued unhurt, stressing that the operatives are currently combing the general area to apprehend the fleeing band of marauders. It said that the Commissioner of Police has appreciated the sacrifice officers and men of the Command continue to make daily to restore public order and normalcy in our state. The Commissioner of Police, according to the statement, equally charged them to continue to work in close synergy with other security agencies and build on the general public’s trust in actualizing their mandate of securing the public space. The statement explained that in the meantime, members of the public in the area had been enjoined to report anyone found with bullet injuries to the nearest security formation.
