Osun NSCDC Parades Three Suspects For Thefts

The Osun State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, on Tuesday, has paraded one Odejide Oluwole for alleged theft of N120,000.

Others paraded alongside him include 33-year-old Bamidele Kayode and 32 year old Olajide Samuel who were arrested for theft of electronics and burglary.

According to the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Agboola Sunday during the parade, “Oluwole, a 46-year-old working with Abdukudus Filling Station Osunjela, Osogbo absconded from the station under the pretence that he wanted to buy food on Sunday 9th October, 2022.”

Confessing to the allegation, the suspect said, “he went out to buy food with N18,000 on him while on duty and returning to the petrol station he was kidnapped by unknown men who dragged him into a bus, collected the money with him, pushed him off the bus and zoomed off.”

The suspect disclosed that he had only spent a month working with the petrol station before he was arrested on Monday, October 10, 2022 at CMS Junction area, Osogbo.

Kayode, according to the NSCDC Commandant, was arrested by its personnel at Ila-Orangun on October 12, 2022.

“He was found in possession of 1 Sony DVD Player, 1 Zealot MP3, 1 Luxer Plasma TV with Stand, 2 Remote Control and 1 in-to-in cable at the point of arrest.

“He confessed to have gone into the house of one Dada (Principal suspect and currently at large) at lla Orangun based on his instruction to help him pack those items from his room for safe keeping because of the leaking roof of his house to avoid being damaged by excessive rainfall.”

Samuel, another suspect was arrested for forcefully entering into a house belonging to Eunice Olamide on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Ilo-Ijesa, Osun State.

“The suspect was paraded for stealing a Handset Tecno F1 and unascertained amount of money. He was arrested through a tracking process by the corps,” Agboola stated.

Speaking with journalists, Samuel said he confessed to the crime because he was arrested with a stolen phone.

Remarking, the Osun NSCDC Commandant stated that the corps under his command will continue to work in ensuring that the lives and properties of residents of Osun were secured.

He assured that the suspects if found culpable of their alleged crimes will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigation.

He warned criminals to stop their evil activities in the state as Osun will not be a safe haven for them anymore.
