Learn To Be Proactive, Niger CP Warns Officers

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Ogundele Ayodeji, on the 25th October, 2022 had his maiden conference with senior officers and DPOs in the State, having assumed duty as the 36th Commissioner of Police in the State on 17th October, 2022

During his lecture, he expressed familiarity with the terrain of the State, as he described his deployment to the State as homecoming, because he had served in the Command as AC SCID and Area Commander, Kotangora.

He asserted that Niger State is the largest State in the nation, thereby making it vulnerable to challenges of crime and criminality. He therefore, urged officers to map out strategies to reduce crime and be proactive. He reiterated that by means of proactiveness, officers must identify critical stakeholders to work with, towards fighting crime and criminality to a barest minimum.

He emphasized on intelligence gathering and directed DPOs to spread their tentacles for information within their area of responsibility as part of proactive measure.

The CP, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), fdc, NPM, CFR decorated six newly promoted senior officers in the Command who are:

-DCP Shaibu A. Audu – Area Commander, K’gora
-DCP Yakubu Mohammed – Area Commander, Bosso
-DCP Taiwo A. Adedeji – 2i/c Operations Dept.
-ACP Nadikko B. Jibril – DFA SHQ, Minna
-CSP Musa Ibrahim – DPO Kaffin-Koro Div.
-CSP Ebimeunwa Kosipre – DPO Morris Div.

The CP noted that promotion is a thing of joy and sort of acknowledgement for hardwork and dedication to duty. He said promotion is also an act of assigning more roles and responsibilities to an officer, while he advised the promoted officers not to relent, but to improve on their productivity in the line of duty.

On behalf of the promoted officers, DCP Shaibu A. Audu appreciated the Inspector General of Police, the Police Service Commission and the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command for the promotion and promised that they will redouble their efforts in crime fighting responsibility, as to whom much is given, much is expected
