Police Kill Two Suspected Kidnappers In Plateau

The police in Plateau State on Tuesday announced that they have neutralised two suspected kidnappers in the Fangha area of Daffo District, Bokkos LGA of the State.

This was disclosed by the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, in Jos, the State Capital.

He said, “The Plateau State Police Command is committed to protecting the lives and properties of all residents of Plateau State. The new strategies implemented by the Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, upon assumption of duty in April 2024, have been yielding laudable results.

“We are pleased to inform the good citizens of the state of our recent operational breakthroughs in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, “On June 3, 2024, at about 5:30 a.m., we received a distress call from a patriotic citizen who reported that some hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers were operating in the Fangha area of Daffo District, Bokkos LGA.

“Upon receipt of the tip-off, a team of policemen and other security help groups led by the DPO of Bokkos Division swiftly rushed to the scene of the incident, where they engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel. Two of the hoodlums were neutralized in the process, while others escaped with gunshot wounds,” he explained.

“Exhibits recovered from the hoodlums include one locally fabricated revolver gun loaded with four 7.62MM rounds of ammunition, two phones, one dagger, and one knife.

“In view of this development, the Plateau State Police Chief assures the good and peace-loving people of Plateau State that the police under his leadership remain resolute in their fight against crime and criminality. They will continue to do everything within their constitutional mandate to ensure that Plateau State is habitable for all residents and visitors,” he assured.

Alabo further stated that the case is still under investigation, while efforts are being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police also urges all residents to go about their lawful businesses without apprehension and to report any suspicious activities.
