Police nab two suspected cultists after confraternity conference in Lagos

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad have arrested two university students suspected to be members of a cult group in the early hours of Sunday.

The RRS disclosed this in a statement on X.com on Thursday.

The suspects, identified as Okey Bright, 21, also known as “B in Fine Boy,” and Daniel Prince, 22, also called, “Rugged Promotion,” were reportedly apprehended around 4:00 a.m. as they returned from an annual confraternity conference at a hotel in Lekki.

The statement partly read, “Preliminary investigations revealed that Bright, a resident of Ikoyi, joined the confraternity in 2024. He is a university student. Prince, who goes by the alias “Rugged Promotion”, is a hairstylist and a university student.

“Their arrest was prompted by the suspicious movement of one of the suspects, Daniel Prince, who was carrying a cross bag.

“In Prince’s bag, the operatives discovered caps associated with the confraternity, leading to the immediate arrest of both suspects.”

The suspects have reportedly been transferred to the Commissioner of Police’s Special Squad for further investigation.

In the statement, RRS added that the suspects’ arrest reinforces the ongoing efforts of the state command to curb cult related activities and maintain law and order in the state.
