Three Suspected Cultists Nabbed By Police In Ogun

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended three suspected cultists in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects are 23-year-old Adebowale Idowu, 25-year-old Oke Ela, and 27-year-old Abiodun Segun.

The trio, who were driving an unregistered black Lexus RX330 along the Ilaro/Oja-Odan road, were arrested during a routine stop-and-search operation.

Recall that Ogun State has witnessed frequent cult-related clashes, including Saturday’s clash between the rival Eiye and Aye confraternities in the Alogi, Somorin, and Obantoko areas, which left at least four people dead.

The Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirming the arrest to DAILY POST on Wednesday, said the trio were arrested at about 12:40 p.m. on Friday.

She said, “According to reports, on March 14, 2025, at approximately 12:40 p.m., a surveillance patrol team intercepted an unregistered black Lexus RX330 along the Ilaro/Oja-Odan Road.

“The vehicle was occupied by 23-year-old Adebowale Idowu, along with his associates, 25-year-old Abimbola Kabiru and 27-year-old Abiodun Segun.”

Odutola noted that during the search, a battle axe and a knife concealed beneath the driver’s seat were recovered.

She added that the suspects were immediately arrested and that further investigations are ongoing.
