Three Armed Robbery Suspects Nabbed By Police In Jigawa

Police in Jigawa State have arrested three suspected armed robbers in Katoge village, Kazaure Local Government Area.

Spokesman of the Jigawa Police Command, SP. Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday.

“On 04th July, 2025 at about 0400hrs, following a credible intelligence report and swift response by operatives attached to the Kazaure Divisional Police Headquarters, Operation Salama, Vigilante and Community Neighborhood Watch, three suspects were apprehended in Katoge village shortly after allegedly terrorizing residents and dispossessing them of their belongings.


“During the operation, police recovered one locally made Dane gun (short range), one power bank, one mattress, two sheep and the sum of fifty thousand naira.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had conspired and stormed the residential houses of Nawaila Mustapha Umar and Sani Kaska, all of Katoge Quarters in Kazaure town, and made away with their valuables.

“The suspects are currently in custody and under investigation. Upon conclusion of thorough investigation, the suspects will be arraigned in court to face the full weight of the law,” the statement said.

The statement added that the Jigawa State Commissioner of Police commended the officers involved in the operation for their bravery and commitment.

He also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to the police in the ongoing fight against crime and criminality
