The member representing Kutemeshi constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yahaya Musa Dan Salio, has confirmed bandits’ attack on residents of Kakangi ward in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
He said the bandits killed four vigilante members and a Mobile Police Force (MPF) officer.
Salio said the attack happened on Sunday, adding that apart from the victims, there were other villagers abducted on their farms around Sabon Layi.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State command, ASP Mansir Hassan who also confirmed the killings said:
“When we received the information that bandits attacked people on their farms, the divisional police officer and the hunters posted in the area mobilised and repelled the attack.
“In the process, three local vigilantes and a mobile policeman were killed.
“Several bandits were also neutralised and others escaped with bullets wounds.”
