Lekki Toll Gate: Lagos CP Cautions Against Action That May Disrupt Peace

Lagos State Police Commissioner says he won’t tolerate any form of violent protest at the Lekki-Ikoyi toll gate and other areas.

He made this known in a statement issued on Thursday night by the Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, where he cautioned against actions that could disrupt peace.

Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi assured that measures were in place to ensure the safety of lives and property.

The command said activities capable of grounding commercial activities and obstructing free flow of traffic would not be tolerated.

Noting that the police are not averse to the people’s right to freedom of assembly, the police said nobody will be allowed to violate the rights of others.

Alabi told intending protesters that anyone found infringing on the free will of Nigerians will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

The CP further advised residents to go about their lawful duties without fear of harassment or intimidation.
