The attack, which took place early Wednesday, has drawn widespread condemnation from the community.
The Zamfara State Police have confirmed a deadly bandit attack in Banga village, Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, which resulted in two deaths and several abductions.
Police spokesperson DSP Yazid Abubakar said investigations are ongoing to determine the exact number of those abducted, while efforts are being made to rescue the victims.
Eyewitnesses said that the assailants struck around midnight, firing sporadically and causing panic among residents.
The attackers killed an elderly man and an 18-year-old girl.
A joint security operation, supported by the Nigerian Air Force, led to the killing of several bandits, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
The attackers also failed to steal any cattle as they usually do.
