The Lagos State Environmental Task Force has arrested 44 individuals suspected of criminal activity during an operation conducted on Lagos Island.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to rid the city of criminal elements.
The coordinated raid covered several key locations, including Falomo Bridge, Oyin Jolayemi, Eko Hotel Roundabout, Ligali Ayorinde, Oniru Beach and the 1004 area.
According to Wahab, the suspects are currently in custody and will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
