Aba: Two-Year-Old Girl Trafficked For N100, 000 — NAPTIP

A two-year-old girl who was trafficked from Abuja to Aba and sold for just N100,000 has been rescued, according to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

The rescue was carried out on May 8, 2025, by the Abia State Command of NAPTIP, following the arrest of a suspected trafficker by the Department of State Services (DSS).

In an official statement released on Friday, NAPTIP disclosed that the child—temporarily renamed Chiamaka Favor for protection—was taken from Abuja in February and sold to an undisclosed buyer in Aba.

“The suspected trafficker, arrested by DSS Abia and handed over to NAPTIP, is alleged to have worked with three trafficking syndicates from Abuja and sold the child to a buyer for ₦100,000,” the agency said.

Authorities have launched a nationwide search for the girl’s biological parents or any relatives.

NAPTIP is urging anyone with useful information to contact the agency immediately to assist in reuniting the child with her family.
