Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended three suspected cultists during a private meeting in the Elemoro area of Lagos.
The suspects, Christopher Amah (28), Bada Olusesi (38), and Magaji Yusuf (34), were arrested on April 26, 2025, as officers on routine patrol intercepted the unlawful gathering.
According to police sources, the patrol team received intelligence about a suspected cult assembly involving around 15 individuals.
Acting swiftly, the operatives moved in and succeeded in apprehending three members of the group.
A subsequent search of the suspects led to the recovery of two firearms: a defaced Beretta pistol and a locally fabricated pistol, which was loaded with a live cartridge.
The weapons have been taken into custody as investigations continue, with efforts underway to track down the remaining suspects who fled the scene.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reaffirmed the Command’s zero-tolerance stance on cultism and other forms of organized crime.
He stressed that the police under his leadership would ensure there is no refuge for cultists or criminal elements operating within the state.
