John Ugorji, the owner of Johnny Supermarket and Pharmacy at the Ikenegbu Layout in Owerri, the Imo State capital, who was reported kidnapped, has been released.
The popular businessman who regained freedom from his abductors on Friday, July 14, exactly two weeks after his abduction, returned to his home and reunited with his family after they paid N25 million ransom.
A source close to his family said, “he showed up this morning. We are glad he survived and came back.”
The source claimed that before releasing him, the captors swindled the family out of a sizeable sum.
“N25 million, changed to dollars, was taken by the kidnappers,” he said.
