The Nigeria Police Force, Kano state command said it has arrested the principal suspect in the murder of 22-year old housewife in the state.
Rumaisa Haruna was found by her husband, Ibrahim Mohammed with severe neck injuries at Farawa quarters. She was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa on Tuesday said 35-year-old Shu’aibu AbdulKadir of Madatai quarters was arrested in connection with the murder at Tsamiya Duhuwa on 6th April, 2025 in Kano.
“True suspect has confessed to the crime, admitting trespassing into the victim’s matrimonial home, and stabbing her with a knife on the neck, resulting in her death.”
The Police said upon completion of the investigations, the suspect would be charged to court.
Commending the detectives on the case, Kano police commissioner, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori urged the public to remain vigilant.
He also assured the public of the police vigilance in protecting lives and property.
