Operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have arrested a notorious cable vandal in the Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
In a press statement signed by the spokesman of the command, CSC Adamu Shehu, the 20-year-old suspect, Buhari Iliya of Giginya Village was arrested by the operatives of the NSCDC.
He said: “The suspect was arrested on Sunday at about 0400hrs when he went to Government Science Secondary School Kanya Babba, vandalized and stole 318.6 meters of electric cables meant to supply electricity to the School Administrative Block.
“Watchmen heard unusual movement from the ceiling which aroused their curiosity and eventually led to his arrest.”
He confessed to having committed the same offense thrice in the same school.
Further investigation led to the arrest of one Nasiru Shuaibu who used to buy the stolen goods from the suspect.
