Gombe Police Orders Improved Security Around INEC Critical Assets

The Gombe State Command of the Nigerian Police on Wednesday vowed to deal with anyone or group of individuals that intend to cause a breakdown of law and order in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mu’azu Mahid Abubakar who stated this in a statement, said already, the command has tightened security around critical assets and facilities of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.

He further added that in order to checkmate the activities or criminals in the state, Commissioner of Police Oqua Etim had ordered the deployment of police operatives around INEC facilities.

According to him, CP Etim further warned politicians and their parties to refrain from using thugs to carry out destabilising activities in the state, just as he warned that anyone caught would be seriously dealt with.
