A 70-year-old divorcee in Adamawa State has been arrested for allegedly defiling two minors.
The man, Usman Ibrahim who resides in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area is being questioned over the allegation that he defiled the two minors: one seven years old and the other four years old.
The Police said in a statement Saturday that the act took place at Ajiya Street, Jimeta
The statement signed by Police image maker Sulaiman Nguroje said the man was arrested on the 4th of April.
“The suspect, Usman Ibrahim was said to have lured the two victims into his room situated at a close distance to the victims and took advantage of them while on their way going to Lesson class and had unlawful carnal knowledge of them.
“The incident was reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Jimeta by the father of the victims having observed unusual pains from the kids while urinating.
“Preliminary investigation so far reveals that the suspect is a father of three and now living alone after he separated from his wife 10 years ago,” the statement explained.
It added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola expressed worry over the unfortunate incident and directed the Officer in charge of the family support unit of the State CID to take over the investigation and ensure diligent prosecution.
