Suspected Burglars, Thieves, Cultist Nabbed By Amotekun In Osun

Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested four men for different offences ranging from burglary, theft and cult-related activities.

The alleged suspects were arrested on Thursday at different locations in the state.

Their arrest was made known by the Osun Amotekun Commander, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi in Osogbo on Saturday.

According to Adewinmbi, the suspects who specialised in burglary and motorcycle theft, were arrested by the operatives of Amotekun at different locations after a complaint was lodged against their activities.

“The Amotekun intelligence surveillance swung into action immediately and monitored the movement of the suspects, who were later arrested at different locations.

“Abeh Abu, 25 years, and Isaac John, 19 years, natives of Plateau State, were arrested for burglary in Ila-Orangun, Osun State.

“The duo were arrested for stealing home equipment, a TV, mattress, and DVD and wanted to sell it before luck ran against them.

“During the investigation, one of the suspects, Abeh Abuh, confessed to stealing a motorcycle early this year and selling the stolen motorcycle to one Abah Bello in Ondo State.

“The Osun Amotekun operatives swung into action immediately in collaboration with Ondo State Amotekun and apprehended Bello.

“It was revealed that Bello is a person of interest in the state, he has been on the wanted list of Ondo State Amotekun for a long time and he has been handed over to Ondo State Amotekun for prosecution.

“Ajanaku Timileyin, 17, was arrested by the operatives during a routine patrol in the Ilesa town. He was attempting to steal a motorcycle with other gang members now at large with an axe and a dane gun. He confessed to being a member of Eiye confraternity and they have been stealing motorcycles in the past.

“He engaged with other gang members now at large to steal motorcycles at gunpoint.”

Adewinmbi said the suspects will be handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
