NSCDC Nabs Four Suspected Fraudsters In Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Jigawa State Command arrested four suspected fraudsters for using a stolen card to withdraw N2m from a bank account belonging to one Sambo Muhammad.
Spokesperson of the corps in the state, CSC Adamu Shehu, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, November 12, 2023, said Sambo had sent his 18-year-old son with his ATM card to refuel his motorcycle at a filling station where he met the suspects.
According to Shehu, the suspects tricked the teenage boy into believing that they would use prayers to increase the amount of money in his father’s bank account..
They made the boy to hand over his father’s ATM card and the motorcycle valued at N640,000.
“Sadiq Sa’idu, 28yrs of Unguwa Uku Gidan Tsamiya, Nura Adamu, 23yrs of Gyadi-Gyadi Yandusa, both from Tarauni LGA, Sa’adu Danladi 25yrs of Tsangaya Village, Albasu LGA all from Kano State and Sani Idris, 35yrs of Gadadun Quarters, Dutse, Jigawa State were apprehended following a complaint lodged at the NSCDC Area Command Hadejia by one Sambo Muhammad of Unguwar Galo on the 5th of October, 2023,” the statement read.
“According to Sambo, he sent his 18 year old son, Al-Amin with his ATM card to refuel his motorcycle at a filling station but met with Sadiq Sa’adu and Nura Adamu who deceived and tricked him into believing that they will assist him with prayers to increase the amount of money in his bank account and made him handover all the contents of his pocket including the ATM card belonging to his father and the keys to his motorcycle, Haojue. They afterwards, fled.
“Malam Sambo further stated that the sum of Two Million (N2,000,0000) was already deducted from him account at the time of lodging his complaint.
“Upon receiving the complaint, intelligence from the Area Command swung into action by tracking the POS locations used in debiting the account. An investigation that led them to many places including Kano State.
Following their arrest, they disclosed to have disposed the motorcycle to Sa’adu Danladi at the rate of N250,000 in Takai LGA who in turn sold to Sani Idris at N265,000, while the actual value of the motorcycle is put at N640,000.
“Suspects have confessed to the crime and were charged before a Chief Magistrate Court (CMC) in Hadejia to face full wrath of the law.”
