Unknown gunmen have invaded Kwayamawa village and abducted a businessman, Alhaji Shehu Aliyu in Dutse Local Government, Jigawa State.
A resident said that the incident occurred on Friday at about 2:30 am.
He said the gunmen carrying dangerous weapons went to the house of the victim and took him away to an unknown destination after collecting the sum of N3 million.
Police Spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident to newsmen.
He said the police received a report that on Friday 17/10/2023, unknown gunmen in numbers abducted Alh. Shehu Aliyu after they collected money from him in his residence at Kwayama village in Dutse Local Government.
Shiisu said efforts by the police were on to ensure the victim is rescued unharmed.
He appealed to residents to help the police with any useful information that would help in arresting the suspects.
This is coming weeks after gunmen abducted two wives of Kiyawa Local Government chairman.
