17 Crime Suspects Paraded By Gombe Police, Arm, Hard Drugs Recovered

The Gombe State Police Command has apprehended not less than 17 suspects for various crimes within the state.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP. Mahid Muazu Abubakar disclosed this on his verified X handle on Wednesday.

Abubakar stated that the Police successfully arrested two suspects found in possession of a locally made shotgun.

One suspect confessed to purchasing the firearm for the sum of 15,000 naira and handed it over to his brother.

The said brother was intercepted by the Police and is currently under investigation.

The PPRO assured that the case would be charged to court as soon as the Police completed investigations.

In a separate development, a joint operation carried out by Police Operatives from the Kaltungo Division, in collaboration with Operatives from the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB), resulted in the arrest of seven individuals.

The suspects were apprehended during a raid led by Divisional Police Officer Kaltungo CSP Paul Nuhu Pama.

The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Usman (19), Usman Mohd Biliyaminu (18), Mohammed Suleiman (21), Sani Mohammed (20), Hamman Haruna (19), Imrana Hassan (18), and Abdullahi Idris (17), were taken into custody on Sunday, December 3, 2023, following an operation in the criminal hideout at Market Square, Kalaring, and Baganje in Kaltungo Local Government Area.

Items recovered during the raid include Military camouflage, shorts, trousers, and a face cap, 19 blocks of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 40 sachets of tramadol tablets, 240 sachets of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, One empty shell of AK-47 decorated with charms, two cutlasses, one stick, one dagger, two swords, two calabashes, two knives, one axe, one roll of copper wire, five sachets of exzol tablets, two women wrappers (Turmin Zani).

Other exhibits include one charm vest, assorted charms, 582 pieces of exzol tablets, two cutlasses, and 100 pieces of yellow (D-5) tablets.

The suspects are facing charges related to criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and possession of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
