A foremost indigenous socio-club, Eko Club on Tuesday organized the 2023 end of the year party with induction of new members and presentation of awards to honour members that have made significant contributions to the club since inception.

In his welcome address, the President of the Club, Mr Razaak Olugbenga Amodu, FNIM, FCIPM, GCHB, commended members of the club for their outstanding and immense support at sustaining the club and bringing development to it over years.

Amodu maintained that this year’s celebration resonates so much significance because of the uniqueness of the occasion as it is a double celebration, added that it owes to the fact that the Club will few days celebrating her 50years anniversary, marking the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Eko Club as a foremost club in Lagos State and in Nigeria with the objective of fostering and promoting friendly relations and understanding among its members.
He also maintained that the celebration was accompanied with awards presentation, recognition of distinguished members who have shown exemplary leadership and elevated in their respective professions.
The President also announced that the new inductees have undergone thorough screening and selection processes handled by capable Membership sub -committee, this according to him enable the club to keep the prestige, honour and dignity that is the hall mark of the foremost and prestigious club.
He spoke further that after thorough screening, 15 new intakes were carefully selected in line with constitutional provisions, having satisfied and met all the requirements of the club.

And in addition, by the power conferred on me as the President of Eko Club, I have added 3 other eminent persons as new members making a total of 18 new inductees”, Amodu said..
He therefore congratulated the new inductees and welcome them to the fold, just as he added that it is belied that they will bring value and all other needed support to ensure the continuous growth of the club.
“Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, permit me to state here that within the period under review , our club has continued to witness tremendous progress; we have bonded better and built social interactions that have transcended into fruitful business engagements which has not only built the strength of our club but it has also made us formidable and relevant in the society in many ways’, Amodu says
“We cannot talk about today, without referring to yesterday. To God be the glory, what started in a shop at Old Bishop Street , now Issa Williams Street, Lagos is today the foremost indigenous socio-cultural in Lagos and among the league of First Class Clubs in Nigeria.”, he said
He acknowledged the vision of some 93 ‘Young’ Lagosians who formed the the club, though maintained that some of them are already late while some are still alive.

Animashaun-Quadri, Shakiru Kolawole Yusuf, Winston Oladimeji Gbajumo, Oluwayemisi R.Dania, Stephen Owolabi Martins, Habeeb Abiodun Sanni, Abdul Azeez Adewale Mustapha and John Campos Ogundare

Highpoint of the event include commissioning of the Club’s remodelled Reception Hall, recognition of excellence and flag off of Eko Club at 50 among others
