The Ogun state police command has arrested five suspected members of a notorious cult group who have been terrorizing Aboro area of the state and have confessed to various crimes including Murder.
The force public relations officer, SP Omolola Odutola, in a statement on Wednesday, said the arrest followed a distress call received by the police in Agbado Divisional Headquarters.
Having received the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer, Agbado division, CSP Awoniyi Adekunle Isaac led his patrol team to the scene where five members of the dreaded group namely Adetayo Ismaila “m” 42 yrs, Kunle Oluwole “m” 37 yrs, Ibrahim Ademosun “m” 31 yrs, Meshach Olaide “m” 31 yrs and Dare Kehinde “m” 35 yrs were arrested.”
“These set of cultist attacked the Divisional Police Officer and his team who went to rescue one Ogwu Uzoma “m” presently under medical attention at Ayodele Hospital Matogun that was brutally injured by the suspected cultist. They had earlier boasted that they will kill him, if Uzoma the victim did not clear out his account for them.
“Dangerous Items recovered are broken bottles, cutlasses, knife and significant amount of cannabis pointing to the fact that they are under the influence of hard drugs.
“Investigation revealed that they are members of Aiye Confraternity and have been instrumental in series of early morning attacks, waylaying persons who close from night duty on their way back home.”
